The question of whether you should choose a tag or camera-based system is very situation and industry dependant - both proximity alert systems thrive in different scenarios.

Tag-based systems have the advantage of not being obscured by adverse weather conditions or light levels, and tag wearing workers will still be detected through objects. This makes this type of system more suitable for industries like recycling and warehousing, due to the potential for people to be obscured by high piles of rubbish (in waste) and narrow workways and an environment with lots of shelving and corners (in warehousing).

Cameras perform very well in situations where it isn’t practical or possible to give everyone a tag, or there are lot of visiting vehicles and personnel on site. Cameras are also increasingly common in applications such as waste collection, where a large vehicle is frequently operating near members of the public.

For the complete safety system, why not combine the use of tags and cameras? This all-encompassing system, like SensorZone Proximity Warning Plus, gives you the best of both worlds!
