Different types of proximity warning systems have slightly different levels of complexity; however, they are all generally straightforward to operate, install, and train workers on.

Camera-based proximity alert systems, such as Vision360, can take a couple of hours to install, but after that there is minimal training required. The vehicle operator just needs to know how the in-cab display works and the safe working procedures around vehicles agreed upon.

Tag-based proximity alert systems, such as SensorZone Core, can take less time to install due to their magnetically mounted components. A standard installation time is around an hour. They do, however, require a greater amount of training time for both the vehicle operator and the tag-wearing workers.

With tag-based systems, it’s vital that all workers on site know exactly how the system works and how the proximity alerts are triggered and tracked.
