How it works

How does Flex work?

Flex uses the same RFID tag detection as Proximity Warning Core. Workers wear standard SensorZone personnel tags, and the Flex unit scans for them in a full 360-degree field around the forklift. When a tag enters the warning zone, the driver gets audible and visual alerts and the worker's tag vibrates.

The difference is the form factor and the pricing model. Flex combines the Core hardware, apart from the in-cab display, into one magnetically mounted unit on top of the forklift, available on a monthly subscription so you can scale the number of units up or down.

The problem

Most forklift accidents are preventable

OSHA data shows forklifts are responsible for around 85 fatalities and 34,900 serious injuries in the US each year. Mirrors, horns and floor markings help, but they are passive. Flex adds an active, real-time layer that alerts operators and pedestrians before a collision.

How much does SensorZone Flex cost?

SensorZone Flex is available from $149 per forklift per month. This includes the hardware, personnel tags, installation, training, ongoing maintenance and access to the Insights Platform, with no upfront capital expenditure. Contact our team for a quote based on your fleet.

Yes. Halos and perimeter lights are useful visual indicators, but they rely on people noticing them. Flex adds active audible and haptic alerts for operators and pedestrians when someone enters the detection zone, along with data to improve site safety.

Installation is typically completed in under one hour per forklift. Our engineers mount the hardware, configure the detection zones for your layout and test the system before handover. Most fleets can be fully equipped within a single day.

Flex suits any indoor or outdoor environment where forklifts operate near people, including warehouses, distribution centres, manufacturing plants, loading docks, cold storage and retail back-of-house areas. RFID detection does not need line of sight, so racking, noise and lighting do not affect it.

Each worker is issued a lightweight SensorZone tag that can be worn on a lanyard, clipped to clothing or attached to a hard hat. Tags need no charging and last for years. They are assigned and tracked in the Insights Platform, so they are easy to issue, reassign or deactivate.

Flex is designed to be flexible. Our team will discuss subscription terms that suit your business, so you can scale up or down without being locked into rigid long-term commitments.

Flex is not a substitute for a full OSHA compliance programme, but it supports compliance by adding an active safety layer for powered industrial trucks. Insights Platform data can help demonstrate duty of care, document near-miss investigations and evidence proactive safety measures.
